Having an issue running the takari maven plugin to test my custom maven plugin.
For each version I specify, I get an error like this (with only the version changing):

I feel like I have to be missing something. I haven't seen anything in the takari-lifecycle-plugin docs on configuring credentials for downloading the jars - anyone have suggestions? Note we're using a custom artifactory maven repo in our settings.xml if that makes a difference.
EDIT: Answers that don't deal specifically with configuring the takari plugin aren't really helpful, I know what a HTTP 401 is
error HTTP/401 Unauthorized is occur because the request has not been applied because it lacks valid authentication credentials for the target resource. and you are using custom artifactory maven so you are specify the repository url, you need to check there url and also use proper authentication credentials with it. check your settings.xml and pom.xml

But I have this in my pom.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>org.datanucleus</groupId>
<artifactId>datanucleus-api-jdo</artifactId>
<version>5.0.3</version>
</dependency>
The weird thing is that this only happens when I use my code through the jar, when I run it from eclipse, the thing works perfectly.
I double checked through "jar tf" and the jar that I run does contain the "datanucleus-api-jdo-5.0.3.jar".
I've searched for conflicts in my dependency hierarchy and there is one dependency that also use an older version of the "datanucleus-api-jdo", but it's omitted for conflict according to eclipse and excluding it does not solve the problem
Not sure if that helps but the run configuration within eclipse is "clean package spring-boot:run".
Any ideas of what is causing this?

I configured URLRewrite to my application. But when I tried to start up my Jetty server with Java code, an exception occurred as below:

But it worked when I deployed it to Tomcat server.
Anyone can help with this? Thank you in advance!
Finally I found that it's caused by the version of servlet-api, which is embedded in Jetty but not the one supports. So I upgraded Jetty to a newer one and changed the version of web.xml to 3.0. Then it works.
Hope this helps!

That line would mean that the logger hasn't been initialized. Which Maven version are you using?
The plugin has been built and validated with Maven 3.2 (and was developed with 3.0), and I just tried with Maven 3.3 and integration tests pass too; but it could be a Maven versioning issue if you're not using one of those versions.

This is the exception I'm getting while giving maven install. It occurs for all projects. I'm compiling OSGI-BUNDLES with maven. Changing the settings.xml is also not helping. I can't deploy my bundles in Karaf due to this error. Seems .m2/repository/repository.xml is empty.
Any Mojo Exception that occurs is due to the issue that some jar is not being downloaded properly during mvn install.
Try to delete your .m2 local repository and do a clean build again and see if you face the same problem again.
Also try to check the compatibility of Java verson with the Maven version you are using that can also cause an issue. dependency checking can also some time solve it as you may have forgotten to add the correct dependency in your pom.xml
[WARNING] Exception while updating local OBR: Unable to read repository xml: file:/home/.m2/repository/repository.xml
On my machine this was because permissions on the repository.xml for my user were mysteriously removed. When i restored them, the error went away and everything behaved as expected.

I know that this means I am missing a class on the classpath. The trouble is it shouldn't be looking for this class (I am not using it).
Running the jetty server from the Linux console works fine.
To make things more bizarre if I run it as an external tool (within eclipse), and then connect to the debugging session it runs just fine. The bizarre part is that if I shut this server down and then run/debug in the original way (the way that first issued an error) it now runs fine.
One more piece of possibly relevant information is that the Eclipse project configurations where pulled from a repository, and the Windows users do not see this issue.
What is going on here? Is there a way to fix it?
I finally figured it out. So I am posting this answer for anyone having the same trouble.
I was using the IBM JDK and as soon as I switched to the Oracle JDK this issue went away. So the answer is to switch to a different version of the JDK/JVM that you are using.
