Upgrading spring application from 4.3.2.RELEASE to 5.2.20.RELEASE

I'm upgrading my spring multi module project from 4.3.2.RELEASE to 5.2.20.RELEASE.
After changing version in the dependency application works fine.
but when I ran the application with test throwing an error.

I'm getting this below error
Could not initialize class org.springframework.test.context.junit4.SpringJUnit4ClassRunner
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-surefire-plugin:2.12:test (default-test) on project data-access: There are test failures.
I tried upgrading junit dependency as well. But still getting the same error.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

ClassNotFoundException: org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence deploying with maven

I have a project based in Spring Web model-view-controller (MVC) framework. The version of the Spring Web model-view-controller (MVC) framework is 3.2.8.
But when I deploy the application in maven I got this error:

You should also remove the group org.hibernate artifact hibernate version 3.5.4-Final type pom dependency entirely. In fact, you only need the hibernate-c3p0 dependency and it will add the rest.
As for the ClassNotFoundException, edit your persistence.xml to change the provider to org.hibernate.jpa.HibernatePersistenceProvider. It has just been moved to a different package in the newer versions you're using.

Upgrading project from spring 2.5 to 3.2 I have replaced the old spring jars with new spring 3.1.1 jars. When I deployed and trying to hit the server. I am getting the following error.

Sorry for posting it here as I dont have reps to add it in a comment.
Please remove the older version of spring if you want to use a new version.
It is a very bad idea to have multiple versions of spring in one application.
You will spend hours and hours of wasting time for solving magical errors occurs with your application just because of two versions of spring jars.

I came across with the same issue and I used the Maven Dependency BOM. It works perfect. The ---Version---Number is the Spring Framework version you are using in your project.

Errors when Adding db2 Jar files(drivers) to a maven project

I’m using net-beans 8 and I am facing two errors in trying to install db2 drivers for my maven application...I have been following instructions from earlier posts.
when I try to add the repositories to my POM file it keeps giving build errors:

when i tried to run the maven install command it seems to be attempting to connect to the internet its giving this error...

I am trying to use maven with hibernate and spring and i had some problem not being able to work it out with hibernate3 and spring 4.2.0 because of tx annotations. After downgrade at 3.0.2, everything seems ok except that when i'm running my app i get something like this:
