I am trying to use #Autowired in my #RestController but the #Autowired is not found in my project. I am following it Building REST services with Spring

My RestController
No import to #Autowired, why?
#Autowired is part of spring-beans-XXX.jar. spring-boot-starter will have spring-beans as trasnsitive dependancy. So spring-beans*.jar must be in your classpath. This seems to be some issue of IDE.
Try restarting your IDE. If you are using Intellij, choose following option- File->Invalidate Cache/Restart.
Try to build the project first, so that all jars are downloaded and available in classpath.
Try to manually add spring-beans*.jar in classpath, if none of above works.
I am not aware about Spring Boot but have you tried below one for import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired;

Spring uses the versioning syntax RC to indicate a Release Candidate. Release candidates requires a milestone repository segment in your pom.xml:

I come from a C#\Visual Studio background and can't wrap my head around how to reference project B from project A such that when I do a Maven build, it actually builds. Using Spring Tool Suite:
In Project A, Properties> Java Build Path > Projects, I've added Project B.
Project B builds via Maven just fine as a package.
Lovely, intellisense works and I'm happily coding along.
I go to do a Maven build on project A and get a whole bunch of [ERROR]: ...package [project B] does not exist.
I get that somehow i need to make Maven aware of project B's jar...but I don't understand how this works. I don't think i want to force the jar into my local Maven repo (if i do, then what happens when i use the company's maven repo?), i really just want to have maven pick up the .class files from project B's build and be on my merry way. What am I missing?

Once you build a project via maven it automatically being added to maven local repository and you can reference it from any maven project inside pom.xml.
Please attach pom files for both project.

I've been reading around on this site and others, trying to figure out how add these external jars without doing mvn install, and haven't had any success. I was reading somewhere that maven-shade could address my problem, but I could never get that to work? I know spring boot doesn't like system scope but it seems to error out if I choose something else?

You can create a new directory "lib" on your project, put your jars in this directory and then add them to your classpath.
If your IDE is IntelliJ you can follow this link:

If you use another IDE you have to find on google how to add jar on your project classpath.
I've been trying to get oriented with Spring Boot, Maven, and Couchbase for work so I've been researching it and building some tutorials. Something interesting that I've run into is that seemingly the same project tag with slightly different formatting can cause the POM file to not work correctly, and thus cause errors in all the classes that draw from the dependencies.
I first ran into this problem with a prior project. After troubleshooting for a long time, I knew it had to be a POM issue and not Maven because other projects were working fine with Maven. I noticed that the only error in the POM file was the starting project tag was underlined (literally just the word project, nothing else in the tag). I fixed it by copying the project tag from a functioning project and replacing it.
So this happened again with another project that I'm working on now. I tried the same fix and it didn't work. But copying the project tag from a different functioning project did work.
After scanning through the tag, I can't understand why this happens. For the record, all the code I'm posting has been provided to me through the spring.io tutorials, so I find it especially interesting that I have to work around this.

Can someone help me understand why this would happen? Keep in mind, both of these project tags worked in some project, be it this one, or another.
The differerence is
http://maven.apache.org/xsd/maven-4.0.0.xsd
versus
http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd
IOW, the broken one has /xsd/ in it.
I have a Spring Core Application which I would like to convert to a web project. I have already implemented all the business logic for my application in a normal Java Project using Eclipse IDE with Maven build.
But since I started out with a Core Java Project I do not have the WebContent folder or the Apache Tomcat wrapper. So what would be the best way to convert this project? Should I just change the pom.xml or does Spring have an alternative solution using the SpringBoot which I have already included in the pom.xml? (As you can tell I am new to Spring framework)

You can configure the directories required for Web under project facets. You can do that by,
Right click on the project properties. Select “Project Facets“, and
click “convert to faceted form…”
