I have a project on spring boot + spring data + hibernate. I have a bean of org.springframework.validation.beanvalidation.LocalValidatorFactoryBean witch is implemented org.springframework.validation.Validator. So I needed to include in the project webMvc and I used annotation #EnableWebMvc and extened my configuration from org.springframework.web.servlet.config.annotation.WebMvcConfigurerAdapter. But WebMvcConfigurerAdapter provided it's own implementation of org.springframework.validation.Validator so I marked my bean with #Primary, but it doesn't help.

You should not use EnableWebMvc in Spring Boot. That disables all the spring boot autoconfiguration of MVC. Define a WebMvcConfigurer, but don't use EnableWebMvc.

JUnit Spring replace bean for one test in test suite via ConditionalOnProperty

I have two beans:

Where the default configuration is that a.on=false. I want to test the custom behaviour that is implemented for a.on=true and am currently setting the properties for one JUnit test class via #TestPropertySource(properties = { "a.on=true" }, inheritLocations = true). This works when running the test class in separation from the other tests (that run under the default configuration of a.on=false).
When running the test class inside of the test suite containing all tests, the following exception is thrown:

How can I fix this issue and be able to run all test classes together?

Getting "Unable to resolve persistence unit" error when building jar without IDE

When i run maven build command in intellij Idea , everything works perfectly .
But when i try to run "mvn clean package" without IDE using maven console i get an error saying unable to resolve persistence unit.
I'm trying to build a bash file where app jar can automatically build and run.That's why i need to run "mvn clean package" without IDE

I also checked IDE's mvn log . It apply the 'default' persistence unit . That's the reason it won't fail the build.

This is a known-bug observed on spring-boot 1.4 versions, wasn't seen on 1.3.x versions as it was silently swallowed.
As a workaround, you can switch-off spring-boot auto-configuration of Hibernate by adding the below changes.
Add #EnableAutoConfiguration(exclude = HibernateJpaAutoConfiguration.class) to you application class
spring.data.jpa.repositories.enabled=false to your application.properties/yml file

Spring context refresh, Component not reloaded properly on Integration Tests

I am trying to write a small library which is used for failsafe.
Basically I am putting registered CircuitBreakers into a hashmap which is hold by a class annotated with #Component.
When running multiple integration tests by one run command, I am facing the issue, that #PostConstruct methods of Beans are re-called by ApplicationContext.refresh() where the hashmap still holds references to the previous referenced Objects. Therefore the map throws IllegalArgumentException since I designed it liked that.
Nonetheless, I think I just miss something to clean the map before the refresh is called.

I also adjusted locally the CircuitBreakerRegistry so that it implements DisposableBean but actually it makes no difference.
Actually I just found out what caused the issue, the map where I registered the CircuitBreaker was static.

How can I avoid such a situation?
To configure the AuthenticationManagerBuilder override the following method inside the WebSecurityConfigurerAdapter

No #Autowired will be needed
For autowiring in general you can autowire by field injection. As far as i know constructor injection or injection via setters are not available for #Configurations.
