It's hard to tell without a more detailed stack trace, but you should replace Hibernate's connection pooling as it's not intended for production. This will handle the underlying connections. There is a good SO answer on configuring HikariCP w/ Spring Boot here.
Additionally, you should take a look at the Spring Boot Cloud SQL starter that Mike mentioned - it includes HikariCP as a dependency.

Mocking liquibase when testing a RestController: Spring + JPA + Junit Jupiter + liquibase

I'm having trouble integrating a bunch of technologies together. I've got a project that uses junit jupiter and I need to test one of my #RestController's. The issue I'm having is that liquibase keeps trying to connect to the database (which I want to mock so that no connection to anything is attempted). I also need to make it so that the #Repository is mocked (mockito is working well so far). I also need to be able to get all the tests to run with mvn test. I tried just turning liquibase off (spring.liquibase.enabled=false) however now it fails to create JDBCEnvironment service.

Camel FileConsumer does not handle Exchange but recognizes file

As you can see I currently use the dependency spring-boot-starter-web to keep the application and therefore the camel routes running. I do this because otherwise the FileConsumer just recognizes the file, creates the exchange but does not route it to the endpoint for processing. That's where my question starts.
The problem
If I don't use the dependency spring-boot-starter-web but want my standalone application to run just only once the routes are just started and shutdown without doing anything (see 'The wished setup')
The problem seems to be that the method ScheduledBatchPollingConsumer#isBatchAllowed sometimes returns false and sometimes returns true. I can't figure out why but to me it seems a timing problem because if I have luck the file is consumed and processed and if I don't have luck the Exchange is not processed.
The wished setup
So I don't want to use the spring-boot-starter-web dependency and I don't want to keep the application running. This should be my wished configuration:
application.properties
camel.component.properties.encoding=UTF-8
# general spring-boot settings
#camel.springboot.main-run-controller=true
#camel.springboot.name=Recommender
# I don't want to keep it running! Shutdown after file was processed is what I wish for.
#camel.springboot.endpoint-bridge-error-handler=true
#camel.springboot.log-mask=true
# common attributes
projectID=2
# customer data route & properties
customerdata.from=file:D:\\projects\\TMP\\RecommenderClientTests\\source?fileName=CUSTOMER_DATA.csv&move=\..\processed&initialDelay=2000&delay=1000
customerdata.to=direct:TransmitCustomerData
# transmit customer data route & properties
transmitcustomerdata.from=direct:TransmitCustomerData
#transmitcustomerdata.to=file:D:\\projects\\TMP\\Camel\\to\\customer? tempFileName=CustomerRequest_tmp.txt&fileName=Customer.json
transmitcustomerdata.to=http://u086:9002/prioritizer/project/customer/transmit?\
bridgeEndpoint=false&\
throwExceptionOnFailure=false&\
httpMethod=POST
transmitcustomerdata.append=false
# archive
archiv=file:D:\\projects\\TMP\\RecommenderClientTests\\archiv? fileName=$simple{exchangeId}-$simple{date:now:yyyyMMddHHmm}&fileExist=Append
The question
How can I configure the file endpoint so that the file is always consumed and processed and the routes are shutdown afterwards?
There are options you can configure to shutdown after N messages processed, or being idel for more than N seconds, or after N time etc.
For example
camel.springboot.duration-max-messages = 1

Java web application deployment Heroku

I was doing some research last time about web services that could provide build & deployment of my Java web application. I found Heroku which seemed to be okay but I encountered some problem.
First of all, my application uses Spring MVC (not Spring Boot), I have manual java-based annotation configuration without web.xml at all. That's about setup. Now when it comes to mentioned error, I connected Heroku with my GitHub repository, then deployed it. Everything built fine with one single problem at the end which looks following:
2018-03-23T07:12:02.679019+00:00 app[web.1]: Error: Main method not found in class th.config.MyWebAppInitializer, please define the main method as:
2018-03-23T07:12:02.679037+00:00 app[web.1]: public static void main(String[] args)
2018-03-23T07:12:02.679150+00:00 app[web.1]: or a JavaFX application class must extend javafx.application.Application
Apparently Heroku environment requires a class that contains main method, which does not exist in my application, at least not in my own code, but probably somewhere in class that runs servlets, like ServletInitializer or something like that. I tried to use flag <skipMain>true</skipMain> flag in order to skip this but without any luck.
Here I include my pom.xml file:

I would appreciate any help or guide that would allow me to successfully deploy my app. Additionally I tried other web service that is called OpenShift and I managed to deploy my application there, but I don't like that it is hardly possible to remotely connect to a mysql database, so I would prefer the Heroku solution. But if there are any other good web service hostings that you would recommend I am open for suggestions. The only requirement is that it doesn't cost ridiculously much money per month because it won't be huge application that require a lot of cores and memory.
Make sure your Procfile contains something like this:
web: java -jar target/dependency/webapp-runner.jar --port $PORT target/*.war
You can learn more about using Webapp Runner in the Heroku documentation on Deploying Tomcat-based Java Web Applications with Webapp Runner

Not able to deploying spring boot app (1.2.5) war in tomcat 8

I'm doing a web app using spring-boot 1.2.5, the application works perfectly when I use the embeded tomcat generating the jar file, however when I need to generate a war file and deploy it in tomcat I'm getting a tons of errors.
I follow this instructions but no success. Here is the log I try different approaches but I'm still failing. Any help or advice are very welcome.
This is my application class
#SpringBootApplication
public class MyApplication extends SpringBootServletInitializer {
#Override
protected SpringApplicationBuilder configure(SpringApplicationBuilder application) {
return application.sources(MyApplication.class);
}
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
SpringApplication.run(MyApplication.class, args);
}
}

After different approaches, I found the error and it was how I create the datasource using Hikari CP. If you have a similar problem please make sure you datasource config looks like:
#Bean(destroyMethod = "close")
public DataSource dataSource() {
Properties dsProps = new Properties();
dsProps.setProperty("url", url);
dsProps.setProperty("user", username);
dsProps.setProperty("password", password);
HikariConfig hc = new HikariConfig();
hc.setDriverClassName(driverClassName);
hc.setJdbcUrl(url);
hc.setMaxLifetime(maxLifetime);
hc.setAutoCommit(autoCommit);
hc.setConnectionTimeout(connectionTimeout);
hc.setIdleTimeout(idleTimeout);
hc.setMinimumIdle(minimumIdle);
hc.setMaximumPoolSize(maximumPoolSize);
hc.setPoolName(poolName);
hc.setDataSourceProperties(dsProps);
return new HikariDataSource(hc);
}
The section that solved the problem was
Properties dsProps = new Properties();
dsProps.setProperty("url", url);
dsProps.setProperty("user", username);
dsProps.setProperty("password", password);
and including it
hc.setDataSourceProperties(dsProps);
I found this approach here, seems to me that it should be documented in Spring Boot documentation

Maven/GAE - Missing some Datanucleus classes

I have been struggling for hours trying to figure the good pom.xml out for my already existing GAE/J project.
Here is the "most working" version of my pom.xml (and it's probably terribly messy):

I changed the version of datanucleus-core so that OMFContent could be found but then it fails even more badly.
Any idea how to solve this?
GAE v1.0.10 needs DataNucleus v1.1.x
GAE v2.x needs DataNucleus 3.x
