I am trying to use Gradle to import JDA into my project, and I have been having major problems all day with it. Both IntelliJ and Eclipse are fighting against me and I am not sure why. I tried to refresh my gradle project to try and get it to sync with my workspace, but the following error occurred:

Now as far as I can tell, it can't run the JRE which I have uninstalled and reinstalled about 4 times tonight because of the errors I have been getting. I have JDK and JRE 1.8 installed.

My environment is: Java 1.8.0_92, Gradle 2.16, Eclipse Mars 4.5.0, Java FX.
Also I have googled this error and I have tried everything from there , but with no success. I tried to add to the build.gradle as dependencies slfj-simple, log4j, logback-classic, slf4j-jdk14,junit,vaadin-slf4j-jdk14 but the error kept appearing.
When I run the application from Eclipse, everything works fine, the logs are written, only when I try to run the jar from command line, I get this ClassNotFoundException.
build.gradle looks like :
dependencies {
compile 'net.sf.staf:jstaf:3.4.4'
// SLF4J API module which will be used for logging
compile 'org.slf4j:slf4j-api:1.7.21'
// Log4J2 logging framework including the binding module to slf4j
compile 'org.apache.logging.log4j:log4j-slf4j-impl:2.5'
compile 'org.apache.logging.log4j:log4j-api:2.5'
compile 'org.apache.logging.log4j:log4j-core:2.5'
testCompile 'junit:junit:4.12'
testCompile "org.testfx:testfx-core:4.0.+"
testCompile "org.testfx:testfx-junit:4.0.+"
}
Any help is greately appreciated.
Simple: the classpath that you are using when trying to execute your JAR file does not contain the required sl4j logger library.
That is all there is to this. This is not about your build setup - it is about the setup that gets used when you run java on the command line!
See here for further reading.
I have unzipped the zip file that was created in the dist folder and it works :) because in the lib folder there was the sl4j-api.
It seems you need slf4j at runtime as well. Have a look at the gradle dependency configuration options
I'm trying to run the example WordCount topology from the Storm repo.
I have a new Storm project created, and Storm added as a dependency via Maven. I'm able to successfully run the ExclamationTopology, so Storm in general is working. I have python installed:
zachary:~ zachary$ python --version
Python 2.7.6
zachary:~ zachary$ which python
/usr/bin/python
I've added the Python script to the multilang/resources directory in my new project. I've tried adding both the multilang and resources, and either/or, as source paths to my project, but I am still always getting this error:

I've searched and this seems to be a common error, relating to adding multilang/resources as a source path in the project, but I have done this.
Any ideas?

Here is the script I'm using to install the agent:
SET DISPLAYNAME="ImageProcAgent"
SET DESCRIPTION="FX9 image processing Agent"
SET LOGPATH="C:\FX9\logs\ImageProcAgent"
SET STARTPATH=
SET JVMLOCATION="C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\client\jvm.dll"
SET CUSTCLASSPATH="C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\GenericAgent.jar;C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\ImageProcAgent.jar;."
ECHO ON
ImageProcAgent.exe //IS//ImageProcAgent --DisplayName=%DISPLAYNAME% --Description=%DESCRIPTION% --Startup=auto --LogPath=%LOGPATH% --LogLevel=INFO --LogPrefix=crawford-daemon --StdOutput=auto --StdError=auto --StartPath=%STARTPATH% --StartClass=com.fx358.fx9.agent.AgentApp --StartMethod=main --StartParams=start --StartMode=jvm --StopPath=%% --StopClass=com.fx358.fx9.agent.AgentApp --StopMethod=stop --StopMode=jvm --Jvm=%JVMLOCATION% --Classpath=%CUSTCLASSPATH% --JvmOptions=-Xmx512M ++JvmOptions=-Djava.util.logging.config.file=logging.properties

Can someone point me out what I'm doing wrong? thanks in advance.
I had the same error. Turns out, I was attempting to use commons-logging and log4j directly within the Service class. However, the log4j was not initializing properly, thus causing the load to error out.
I removed all the log4j, replacing it with a simple System.out.* and it worked.
In your classpath declaration there are only 2 jar entries:
CUSTCLASSPATH="C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\GenericAgent.jar;C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\ImageProcAgent.jar;."
Is your application's your build as a fat-jar containing all compile and runtime dependencies? Otherwise you'll have to add each JAR that is needed at runtime of your service to the classpath. For example:
CUSTCLASSPATH="C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\GenericAgent.jar;C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\ImageProcAgent.jar;C:\FX9\release\ImageProcAgent\GenericAgent_jar\lib\commons-daemon-1.0.15.jar;<PROBABLY_MORE_JARS_NEED_TO_BE_ADDED_HERE>;."
Furthermore using . in the classpath of your service is probably not a good idea. You should only use fully qualified paths in there. Otherwise you'll be dependent on the location from where the service is executed by Windows.
I had the same error with a runnable jar build with ANT. The Service-Class fails with a severe error. One reason was, i used signed libraries SHA1-Digest, please check this. To avoid this problem don't build a runnable, deliver the libraries you are using, and set the Class-Path in the MANIFEST.MF of your JAR-File. Hope this helps you.
