java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.http.HttpMessageConverters - java

I want to use Spring Boot using this Maven configuration:
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
<artifactId>javax.servlet-api</artifactId>
<version>4.0.0</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>commons-lang</groupId>
<artifactId>commons-lang</artifactId>
<version>2.6</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
<version>2.0.3.RELEASE</version>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-tomcat</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>javax</groupId>
<artifactId>javaee-api</artifactId>
<version>8.0</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-amqp</artifactId>
<version>2.0.3.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<version>4.12</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
But when I deploy the war package I get error:
Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.http.HttpMessageConverters$$EnhancerBySpringCGLIB$$1d90bff9.<init>()
Full error stack:

Can you give me some advice what could be the problem?

Try to add a file named jboss-deployment-structure.xml under src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/ with the following content:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<jboss-deployment-structure xmlns="urn:jboss:deployment-structure:1.1">
<deployment>
<exclusions>
<module name="com.fasterxml.jackson.core.jackson-annotations" />
<module name="com.fasterxml.jackson.core.jackson-core" />
<module name="com.fasterxml.jackson.core.jackson-databind" />
<module name="com.fasterxml.jackson.jaxrs.jackson-jaxrs-json-provider" />
<module name="org.jboss.resteasy.resteasy-jackson2-provider" />
<module name="org.slf4j" />
</exclusions>
</deployment>
</jboss-deployment-structure>
OR
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<jboss-deployment-structure>
<deployment>
<exclude-subsystems>
<subsystem name="jaxrs" />
</exclude-subsystems>
</deployment>
</jboss-deployment-structure>
The modules listed above, might be not the one which cause the issue. But this route should work.
Also, take a look at this spring-boot-deployment-test-wildfly project.

STS not picking log4j.xml nor log4j2.properties to write in file

We are migrating to log4j2.xml as a part of log4j2 vulnerability. But the newly created log4j2 is not being picked up during application startup. I have carried out all the below options but in vain.
Options tried:
Tried adding and removing log4j-jcl dependency.
Removed spring-boot-starter-logging dependency.
Tried using log4j2.properties instead of log4j2.xml.
Added logging.config prop in application.properties.
Tried renaming the RollingFile name and providing an incorrect AppenderRef ref purposefully to check for any bean related exception. But the application has started successfully. Which means that this log4j2.xml and log4j2.properties file are not being picked up.
Here are the details of my project. Please let know if any other info is needed.
log4j2.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

The XML config file should be placed under the src/main/resources folder.
Your Spring Boot project inherits from a Spring Boot Starter parent project, which dependes on SLF4J and logback. You may either migrate your project to logback or you should remove logback dependencies.
To remove logback dependencies try to update your POM file:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-logging</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-log4j2</artifactId>
</dependency>
Also, as Spring Boot Starter integrates Logback, consider migrating from log4j to Logback. https://logback.qos.ch/manual/introduction.html.
Logback was was designed by the log4j's founder.
Here a migration tool: https://www.slf4j.org/migrator.html
Check with mvn dependency:tree which dependency brings logback and exclude it from pom. For me, it was spring boot starter websocket.
Exclude spring boot logging and logback and add log4j dependency.
Logback is the first logging app which is taken into consideration by spring boot.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-websocket</artifactId>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-logging</artifactId>
</exclusion>
<exclusion>
<artifactId>logback-classic</artifactId>
<groupId>ch.qos.logback</groupId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-log4j2</artifactId>
</dependency>

I have tried a lot but could not found any solution to this error, can any one see what is wrong with this?
OK there is one big mistake in your pom.xml, change :
<org.springframework-version>3.1.1.RELEASE</org.springframework-version>
to
<org.springframework-version>4.1.6.RELEASE</org.springframework-version>
I have noticed this important thing here Configuring Apache Tiles 3 and Spring 4 MVC you can download sample project and get in touch with it.
Hope It would work for you!
You are using Apache-Tiles version 3.0.3 but the org.springframework.web.servlet.view.tiles3.TilesConfigurer is available from Spring 3.2.
See the Spring documentation here.
To get around this issue you could either use:
org.springframework.web.servlet.view.tiles2.TilesConfigurer
or upgrade your Spring version to 3.2 or above.

Query remote Hive server2 using Spring hangs

I am trying to connect to Hive using Spring and jdbc connection. I am using the same sample that is in the Spring Book(https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-hadoop-samples/tree/master/hive) and I get the connection part successful but when I run a query, it gets hanging and I never get the results back.
I have seen more posts with issues similar to this one, but none of them have been answered with a concrete/working answer.
Can someone help me out here? I am starting to think that there is a problem with Hive Server 2 and the spring framework.
This is my code:
public class HiveApp {
private static final Log log = LogFactory.getLog(HiveApp.class);
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
try {
AbstractApplicationContext context = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext(
"/META-INF/spring/hive-context.xml", HiveApp.class);
log.info("Hive Application Running");
System.out.println("Hive Application Running");
context.registerShutdownHook();
HiveTemplate template = context.getBean(HiveTemplate.class);
System.out.println("Hive Template = " + template);
List<String> results = template.query("show tables");
for (String result : results) {
System.out.println(result);
}
} catch (Exception e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
e.printStackTrace();
}

There is a problem with HiveDriver(org.apache.hadoop.hive.jdbc.HiveDriver), change it to [org.apache.hive.jdbc.HiveDriver;]
Refer example below
package org.springframework.samples.hadoop.hive;
import org.apache.hive.jdbc.HiveDriver;
import org.springframework.jdbc.core.JdbcTemplate;
import org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.SimpleDriverDataSource;
public class TestHive {
private static String driverName = "org.apache.hive.jdbc.HiveDriver";
public static void main(String args[]){
java.sql.Driver driver = new HiveDriver();
SimpleDriverDataSource ds = new SimpleDriverDataSource(driver, "jdbc:hive2://$host/$DB:10000");
JdbcTemplate hiveTemplate = new JdbcTemplate(ds);
System.out.println(hiveTemplate.queryForList("show tables"));
System.out.println("Done");
}
}

Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory

I am trying to run a dbtest but I get the following error :
"Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException:
Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory' defined in class
path resource [root-context.xml]: Invocation of init method failed;
nested exception is java.lang.AbstractMethodError:
org.springframework.orm.jpa.persistenceunit.SpringPersistenceUnitInfo.getValidationMode()Ljavax/persistence/ValidationMode;"
And because of that I also get the following error:
"Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException:
Error creating bean with name 'personRepository' defined in class path
resource [root-context.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested
exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException:
Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory' defined in class
path resource [root-context.xml]: Invocation of init method failed;
nested exception is java.lang.AbstractMethodError:
org.springframework.orm.jpa.persistenceunit.SpringPersistenceUnitInfo.getValidationMode()Ljavax/persistence/ValidationMode;
So we have to take alook at my root-context file and it look the following :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans.xsd">
<!-- Root Context: defines shared resources visible to all other web components
<bean id="personService" class="se.lowdin.civilforsvaret.webapp.services.PersonServiceImpl" />
-->
<bean id="personRepository" class="se.lowdin.civilforsvaret.webapp.repositories.PersonRepositoryJpa" />
<!-- Database -->
<bean id="datasource"
class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource">
<property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" />
<property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql://localhost/civilforsvaret11" />
<property name="username" value="bla" />
<property name="password" value="bla" />
</bean>
<!-- Entity Manager -->
<bean id="entityManagerFactory"
class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean">
<property name="dataSource" ref="datasource" />
<property name="persistenceUnitName" value="civilforsvaret" />
</bean>
<!-- Transaction Manager -->
<bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager">
<property name="entityManagerFactory" ref="entityManagerFactory" />
</bean>
</beans>
And the persisence.xml looks the following :
<persistence xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd"
version="2.0">
<persistence-unit name="civilforsvaret" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL">
<provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider>
<properties>
<property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.H2Dialect" />
<property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto" value="create-drop" />
<property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="true"/>
</properties>
</persistence-unit>
</persistence>
And this is my pom.xml file :

I am a complete noob with Spring MVC and cant find the problem.
This sounds like a ClassLoader conflict. I'd bet you have the javax.persistence api 1.x on the classpath somewhere, whereas Spring is trying to access ValidationMode, which was only introduced in JPA 2.0.
Since you use Maven, do mvn dependency:tree, find the artifact:
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.persistence</groupId>
<artifactId>persistence-api</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
</dependency>
And remove it from your setup. (See Excluding Dependencies)
AFAIK there is no such general distribution for JPA 2, but you can use this Hibernate-specific version:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate.javax.persistence</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-jpa-2.0-api</artifactId>
<version>1.0.1.Final</version>
</dependency>
OK, since that doesn't work, you still seem to have some JPA-1 version in there somewhere.
In a test method, add this code:
System.out.println(EntityManager.class.getProtectionDomain()
.getCodeSource()
.getLocation());
See where that points you and get rid of that artifact.
Ahh, now I finally see the problem. Get rid of this:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-jpa</artifactId>
<version>2.0.8</version>
</dependency>
and replace it with
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-orm</artifactId>
<version>3.2.5.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
On a different note, you should set all test libraries (spring-test, easymock etc.) to
<scope>test</scope>
Adding dependencies didn't fix the issue at my end.
The issue was happening at my end because of "additional" fields that are part of the "#Entity" class and don't exist in the database.
I removed the additional fields from the #Entity class and it worked.

Configuration issue in spring security

I have spring security application and the following is my security-contex.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans:beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/security"
xmlns:beans="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/security
http://www.springframework.org/schema/security/spring-security-3.0.3.xsd">
<http auto-config='true'>
<intercept-url pattern='/login*' filters='none' />
<intercept-url pattern='/**' access='ROLE_USER' />
<form-login login-page='/login' default-target-url='/home'
always-use-default-target='true' />
</http>
<authentication-manager>
<authentication-provider>
<user-service>
<user name="anto" password="anto" authorities="ROLE_USER, ROLE_ADMIN" />
<user name="raj" password="raj" authorities="ROLE_USER" />
</user-service>
</authentication-provider>
</authentication-manager>
</beans:beans>
I get this exception:
Configuration problem: You cannot use a spring-security-2.0.xsd schema
with Spring Security 3.0. Please update your schema declarations to
the 3.0 schema.
I could understand the problem but don't know where to change.
I want the login and logout form to come automatically.

You have wrong Spring Security versions in your pom.xml and security-contex.xml: the former points to 3.0.2 but the latter wants 3.0.3, so either:
update pom.xml to 3.0.3 (or greater)
or use http://www.springframework.org/schema/security/spring-security-3.0.xsd in your security config.
BTW Is there a reason not to use one of current Spring Security versions (3.0.8 / 3.1.3)?
Replace your xsd and schema location with given below code. I think the issue is security xsd is missing.

This reads to me like the transitive dependency issues I've occasionally run into. Run mvn dependency:tree to confirm that your project imports the correct dependencies and that there are no transitive dependencies causing your trouble, then exclude any that shouldn't be a part of your project.
I have the similar issue and it was caused by a transitive maven dependency.
my web project has the following dependencies my the pom.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-core</artifactId>
<version>3.2.11.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-config</artifactId>
<version>3.2.11.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-web</artifactId>
<version>3.2.11.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
my model project has the following dependency in its pom.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security.extensions</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-saml2-core</artifactId>
<version>1.0.0.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
The web project is dependent on the model project and so when I run my web project I got the configuration error
Configuration problem: You cannot use a spring-security-3.0.xsd schema
with Spring Security 3.1. Please update your schema declarations to
the 3.1 schema.
Running the mvn dependency:tree reveals that spring-security-saml2-core depends on spring-security-config (ver 3.1.2.RELEASE)
[INFO] +-org.springframework.security.extensions:spring-security-saml2-core:jar:1.0.0.RELEASE:compile
[INFO] | +-org.springframework.security:spring-security-config:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile
[INFO] | - xml-apis:xml-apis:jar:1.4.01:compile
Since I am using version 3.2.11.RELEASE in the web project, the solution is to exclude the bad transitive dependency
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security.extensions</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-saml2-core</artifactId>
<version>1.0.0.RELEASE</version>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.security</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-config</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
This solves the problem for me.
