Spring Boot + Intellij Idea + Hibernate - strange stacktrace

I am pretty new to Spring Boot and Hibernate. Today I have prepared my first application - generate it with Spring Initializr (with Web, JPA, DevTools). Then I have add three models and one repository. Also I have configured connection to PostgreSQL database in application.properties (this element works as expected). To this moment no problems occured but when I am trying to start my application I got stacktrace that is presented above:

I was looking for some solutions on the Internet but nothing found. Could someone help me?

Check your pom.xml. No matter put dependencies spring-boot-starter-web, spring-boot-starter-tomcat at the same time In eclipse tools. But, you should extract tomcat dependencies from starter-web dependency for IntelliJ IDE. Or, you must use one of them even it is provided scope.

Thank you for your answers. In fact the problem was connected with Intellij IDEA. When I have run my project on Spring Tool Suite it does not see any problems and the application is running as expected.

Your URL config for EmbeddedDatabaseConnection is null (whole URL or part of the URL).
Looks like just configuration issue - may be .properties file is wrong or some setting was not past.

As said by #ivan-pronin, you need the dependency to your classpath. For example if you want to use H2 then add it to your pom.xml file.

If you use gradle, then add it to build.gradle. This works for embeddable databases with auto discovery on classpath. If you would like use other database like Mysql for example, then you must configure your application.properties or application.yml.

Spring error creating DataSource for SQL Server

I'm building an WebApi with DataAccess (using Spring). I've a bean to create the datasource like this:

dataSource.setDriverClassName("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver");
dataSource.setUrl("jdbc:sqlserver://localhost/DawDB");

dataSource.setPassword("P#ssw0rd");
return dataSource;
}
But each time I try to run the App I get:
Could not load JDBC driver class
[com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver]
I already tried to add the jar file throw gradle and also manually adding as external library.
Am I missing something?

Had same issue, but for me worked adding com.microsoft.sqlserver:mssql-jdbc dependency.
Mind version of Java You're using.
They've got copilation for each : 7.4.1.jre8

Make sure you have org.springframework.jdbc-XX.jar in your classpath. If you are using maven or gradle to compile/build your app, declare it in your dependencies...
