Spring MVC configuration with IntelliJ IDEA - java

I want to create a web application using Spring MVC framework, so I followed this steps :
I download spring-framework-5.1.2.RELEASE-dist.
I opened a new project (Web Application) using IntelliJ IDEA.
I created a lib directory under WEB-INF and I added all JAR file downloaded previously.
I created a view directory under WEB-INF for all my JSP views
I added two XML files: web.xml and spring-demo-servlet.xml
web.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<web-app xmlns="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_3_1.xsd"
version="3.1">
<display-name>spring-mvc-demo</display-name>

<!-- Step 1: Configure Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet -->
<servlet>
<servlet-name>dispatcher</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>/WEB-INF/spring-mvc-demo-servlet.xml</param-value>
</init-param>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<!-- Step 2: Set up URL mapping for Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet -->
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>dispatcher</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
spring-demo-servlet.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"

When I run my application with GlassFish Server I get this following Exception:

Thank's for helping!

Either you failed to include jackson-databind jar or the proper version of that jar for your current Spring project. The latest is 2.9.7, try to build the project with that version.
Please note that the way you are handling the jar dependencies is not the correct way to do this. As #chrylis suggested in the comment, you should be using a build tool either Maven or Gradle for this.

As per the solutions previously given I have included the following files in my application:
jboss-all.xml - Location is (src/main/resources/META-INF/)
beans.xml - Location is (src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/)
The contents are as follows :
beans.xml
<beans xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee

</beans>
jboss-all.xml
<jboss xmlns="urn:jboss:1.0">
<weld xmlns="urn:jboss:weld:1.0" require-bean-descriptor="true"/>
</jboss>
Please let me know if anything else to be done for the fix . I am still getting the same exception as mentioned above .

<param-value>WEB-INF/application.xml</param-value> deploy success
I found a solution here:
https://stackoverflow.com/a/34418949
You should create a jboss-all.xml with the following content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<jboss xmlns="urn:jboss:1.0">
<weld xmlns="urn:jboss:weld:1.0" require-bean-descriptor="true"/>
</jboss>
and place it under webapp/META-INF.
If you're developing a spring app, you probably want to just turn off CDI. In which case your beans.xml should be:
<beans
xmlns="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="
http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee
http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee/beans_1_1.xsd" bean-discovery-mode="none">
</beans>

How to resolve error with Spring process looking for EJB JNDI endpoint?

I have an Apache Camel Spring process that connects to a JBoss 4.2.3 app server to get EJB remote proxies.

Does anyone have an idea why it is not picking up the URL properly? I have defined the URL in the properties file, but it is parsing the URL as "http:1099".
Thanks for your help.
Try those things:
java.naming.provider.url=jnp://10.10.0.240:1100
java.naming.provider.url=10.10.0.240:1100

Hopefully, I've provided all the configurations needed to see what I'm doing.
Thanks in advance for your help! I'm an experienced Java programmer, but new to Spring/Hibernate.
The driver name is org.postgresql.Driver, not com.postgresql.Driver.
I hope you are not planning to use org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DriverManagerDataSource in live environment. It is useful for test or standalone environment. For an app running on Tomcat you should look into one supporting connection pooling.

Cannot deploy WAR: ClassNotFoundException - What am I still missing?

I'm building a project based on Spring and Hibernate inspired to a Spring MVC tutorial I downloaded. I basically inherited pom.xml and constructed the Eclipse project by it, writing Java code from scratch. Anyway, I'm sure mine is a dependency problem.
Yesterday I added Java EE dependency to pom.xml because of a NoClassDefFoundError: javax/persistence/Entity when loading Hibernate. I Googled and got suggested to add Java EE
<dependency>
<groupId>javax</groupId>
<artifactId>javaee-api</artifactId>
<version>6.0</version>
</dependency>
However now I'm getting SEVERE: Error configuring application listener of class com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener
My project is a Spring MVC REST API. I have read that this error is caused by missing JSF implementation but I don't need JSF here nor I know how to add it to pom.xml if I really need it.
I found no reference to this class in web.xml (so I could work without it). It doesn't seem required by Hibernate AFAIK (HB works on plain old Java console apps too, no need for JSF).
How can I fix the project?

Upgrading to Hibernate 4 solved this problem.
I had others that perhaps I might have fixed now. THIS problem is now solved.
Migrating from HB 3 to 4 forced me to perform some bean tweaking

JUnit tests started to fail after Apache Camel has been upgraded from 2.6.0 to 2.8.6

We have upgraded our Camel version from 2.6.0 to 2.8.6 because of migration to JBoss 5 and all of our test have been failing since then. There is something about the namespace but I haven't found anything that could lead me to the right direction on the Apache Camel's website - on the contrary everything seems to be correct. Any ideas?
