I want a notification on button press, the button press works fine because the toast "ITS OKAY!" is showing, but the notification does not appear. I just found a warning in logcat when the button is pressed:

I know I must use CHANNEL_ID, but it's not better.

I have been trying to create an incoming call type notification for my Android app, written in native Java code, and in many resources online I have read that using the .setOngoing(true) tag on the NotificationBuilder would be enough to have the desired behaviour of the notification being visible, playing the ringtone sound until it is clicked, but that has not worked for me.
I have also tried using the flags Notification.FLAG_INSISTENT and Notification.FLAG_NO_CLEAR without success.

My intention is to have an incoming call type of notification much like other applications such as MS Teams, Whatsapp, ETC. and my issue is that the notification gets minimized after showing on screen for a few seconds, and the ringtone stops shortly after. Thank you for any help with this.

I'm currently trying to implement a push notification into my app, that will be sent as soon as there's an internet connection. The service for checking the connection works just fine and the showNotifications() Method is being called. But the Notification won't show up in the bar. This is the code:

If you need to show heads up notification, then you need to set Importance level in Notification Channel as IMPORTANCE_HIGH. And need to set priority in notification builder as below.

Try setting action (say, On_NOTIFICATION_CLICK) using intent_not.setAction()
In Home_Base using getIntent().getAction(), try to get the action from the intent received.
If the action received in Home_Base is On_NOTIFICATION_CLICK then its a notification Click action.
I have a phone under Android 8 and I begin Android programmation with Android Studio. Some apps like Snapchat or Facebook makes my phone light a led with their custom colors (yellow & blue) when a notification comes.
I want to do the same with my app, I searched a lot and nothing works, the notification appears but not the white light. I checked my phone settings and my app is allowed to light the led.

Use this line of code to change notification LED color: your_notification.ledARGB = Color.YOUR_COLOR;
Usage example:
NotificationManager notif = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE);
notif.cancel(1); // clear previous notification
final Notification notification = new Notification();
notification.ledARGB = Color.MAGENTA;
notification.ledOnMS = 1000;
notification.flags |= Notification.FLAG_SHOW_LIGHTS;
notif.notify(1, notification);
Note : screen should be locked when you test it , because notification LED will be highlighted only when screen is off. Maybe that's your problem.
