I have this piece of code that would allow me to connect to an url (example: https://www.google.fr/)
URL urlSP = new URL("https://www.google.fr/");
HttpsURLConnection connSP = (HttpsURLConnection) urlSP.openConnection();

I do not know if it's caused by the proxy but I tried this code
System.setProperty("https.proxyHost", "proxy");
System.setProperty("https.proxyPort", "port");
System.setProperty("https.proxyUser", "user");
System.setProperty("https.proxyPassword", "password ")
but it does not work either
Someone has an answer please?
Thank you.
huc.connect() is throwing the exception. The stack trace below is what gets printed. If I change the url by adding www so the string is "http://www.sas.com/store/books" then it works fine. I did try increasing the connection timeout all the way up to a minute, but the timeout exception was still thrown. Anyone have any ideas why that happens?
try
{
URL u = new URL("http://sas.com/store/books");
HttpURLConnection huc = (HttpURLConnection)u.openConnection();
huc.connect();
}
catch(IOException e)
{
e.printStackTrace();

You should play around with the HttpURLConnection. It's likely that it is redirecting you to www.sas.com. Check the response code and the headers - I think once you do that you'll find your problem
check the import, should be import java.net.HttpURLConnection
I have a local websphere server that I want to use to pull content from a webpage. when I make a get request to the server, I get a huge error. It seems to be getting triggered by getting the input stream from the connection..

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Likely a firewall issue, the TCP connect() to google.ca timed out. You'd probably meet the same result If you can test outside of the application server on the same system.
I am attempting to connect to Couchbase v2.2.0 over a network. I am able to ping the port and can even get stuff using curl. But when I try and connect using my Java application (which uses couchbase-client v1.4.7) I get the following error:

I spent several hours when tried to solve this, but I do not found solution.
I tried to change port, disable Antivirus&Firewall, use custom SMTPAppender etc...But it did not help...
Any ideas how to solve this?
