BottomNavigationView doesn't appear after running it in the emulator

my BottomNavigationView appear in the preview of the android studio but when i run it in emulator it doesn't appear so it's only the fragment which appear in the emulator and the program isn't give me any error so i tried to switch the home page layout and it also doesn't appear!

You can change your custom icons in menu.
Try it. Hopefully, may resolve you issue your issue. I have tested it
on Android Q emulator. Thanks in advance.

app setBackground() error: incompatible types: int cannot be converted to Drawable

Working on a very simple app to change color of background upon clicking a button, I am stuck at a bug where the color of background is unable to be changed using MainActivity.java file.

When setting the background in MainActivity.java file, the following error pops up for the line view.setBackground(R.color.colorAccent);
error: incompatible types: int cannot be converted to Drawable
What should I do to resolve this bug?

It should probably be view.setBackgroundResource(R.color.colorAccent);

Works with AppCompatActivity:
view.setBackground(ContextCompat.getDrawable(context, R.color.colorAccent));
and
view.setBackgroundColor(ContextCompat.getColor(context, R.color.colorAccent));

With AndroidX, you have to use yourContext.getResources().getColor(R.color.yourColor) instead of (R.color.yourColor)

Drawer Layout hamburger and toolbar not visible despite working nav drawer?

I am currently creating a navigation menu without using fragments. I've seemingly created the working system that opens classes and keeps the navigation bar present at each stage by using a BaseActivity and inheriting it into the classes that need the drawer. However upon loading the app seemingly the 3 bar 'Hamburger' icon isn't present and neither is the toolbar at the top (See photo). The navigation bar does seemingly work as I can swipe from the left and click to load other classes. I feel like my onCreate() in my BaseActivity is missing something but with googling I can't seem to find a solution.

android - menu item not showing in action bar

I'm trying to add menu item "done" in the action bar. I just copied and modified the code from another activity that has menu items showing. So it should work properly.

Android setting custom actionbar

In my project i would to set a custom actionBar (with a custom layout) after a specific action.

But at runtime I have a NullPointerException in the body of "apriBarraRicerca" method..why?How can I fix this problem?
EDIT: as suggested I replaced "getActionBar ()" with "getSupportActionBar ()", now I don't have any exception but nothing happens.
EDIT2: I added getSupportActionBar().setDisplayShowCustomEnabled(true); and now my custom actionbar is visible but not as i want, look at the following image:

The bar is visible but cutted, and are visible also the items of the previous actionBar..

You can try do the same thing with the android.support.v7.widget.ToolBar

You have to modify the values->styles.xml:
