mvn test falls with error "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.maven.surefire.junitplatform.JUnitPlatformProvider"

Good day!
I'm trying to create simple maven project with JUnit 5 test following this guide. When I run test from IntelliJ IDEA (like this), it's all right. But when I call command mvn install from terminal, it falls with this log:

What I do wrong?
java version: 1.8.0_41 (OpenJDK)
maven version: 3.6.3
OS: Windows 10

Problem was solved by reinstalling java from another source.

I have a java maven project where i am using JUnit Juniper for my unit test , while building the project i am getting below error where as if i build the same project from my local it works perfectly fine.
Is this an issue with Intellij ?
I am facing below issue while building my maven project in Intellij whereas this issue doesn't come up when i build from local.

I reproduced this issue on Eclipse/Maven/JDK1.8/SureFire Plugin.
Resolution :-
The problem solved when I corrected all my running tests. Error went away once all tests are passed.
Although this do not specify root cause and exact solution of problem, I feel there is something to do with default setting of surefire plugin to skipping tests after any of test is failed

Build failing after adding a test, eventhough there are no errors in the script.Using selenium,testng with maven in eclipse

I have a maven module which has an a.b.c package and there is a test AssetUploadTest.java and one more test NavigateToPage.java. I am getting a build error only when I am adding the AssetUploadTest. I don't want the tests to run but just be compiled, because I have a properties file which has a username and pwd to my website. But due to compliance, we should not upload the username and pwd into our git. So I gave replace-with-username and replace-with-pwd.
My problem is why the build is successful when here is the second test, and why it is failing with the other test.

Please help me. I tried to change the surefire version,failsafe version, but no luck.

No sufficient Code ,So i guess :
The class in your code is a.b.c. AssetUploadTest!
But from StackTrace we can see this line ,Cannot find class in classpath: com.micrososft.mcb.tests.ui.AssetUploadTest,which indicates that you import com.micrososft.mcb.tests.ui.AssetUploadTest in fact!
The maven can't find the class in classpath and Build failing.

Can't run TestNG Test Suite in a maven project

I'm trying to execute a profile with mvn -PProfileName
But i'm getting errors, it seems that my pom.xml is correct and testngsuite.xml is correct too.
I can execute my code from the .java without any problem

PS : when I write mvn test -PRegressionTest,I get : Unknown lifecycle phase "test-PRegressionTest"

It appears you're missing the <classes> element in your TestNG config file. Try using this for your regression.xml file...

how I add maven surefire plugin to eclipse??

Add Maven Surefire Plugin in pom.xml.
Refer sample pom.xml here:

I also got the same error got resolved by going to add dependency
and add the following dependency
1.maven surfire plugin
2.maven surfire common
3.surfire api
4.surfire booter
By downloading all this in my pom.xml My issue got resolved
