Back arrow isn't shown in #layout/toolbar markup

I have a problem. I wanted to create a back arrow, but it doesn't show. The title also doesn't show. I created the toolbar with an extra .xml file. So I hope you can help me, guys! Thanks in advance.

Hi Change the following in your code
Add this line to setting class setSupportActionBar(toolbar);

I never called the right SettingsActivity.java
So change
setContentView(R.layout.activity_settings);
to
Intent intentAccess = new Intent(getApplicationContext(), SettingsActivity.class);
startActivity(intentAccess);

Im trying to build a free book swap app for months. Got stuck in NavigationView code that points to a null object. I have extracted the full java for your persual. This is my very first call for help.
What i dont understand is, there is:

Toolbar won't display in Activity

I've set my application theme to be NoActionBar in AndroidManifest.xml because I only want a toolbar in my activity and a few fragments, so I'm willing to set it manually for those.

Open navigation drawer menu in another activity

I have created the navigation drawer menu and now i want it to appear in my main activity.
I have the following code in my main activity:

When i run the app it crashes when entering main activity and it tells this:
**Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: This Activity already has an action bar supplied by the window decor. Do not request Window.FEATURE_SUPPORT_ACTION_BAR and set windowActionBar to false in your theme to use a Toolbar instead.**
It specifies the error is in two places:
Menu activity -
Toolbar toolbar = (Toolbar) findViewById(R.id.toolbar);
setSupportActionBar(toolbar);
Main activity -
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);

Your theme already has an ActionBar so you will have to convert it to NoActionBar.
For Whole App:
Open the styles.xml and make sure the last line of the parent has a word NoActionBar for example :

Cannot Dynamically Add TextInputLayout Views

I want to populate TextInputLayouts based on the item that a user selects from a Spinner. Below is my XML (the ID with "CreatePollAnswer" is the view I want to populate dynamically):
