Netbeans is freezing when I open a particular file, it freezes and I have to kill the process. When I debug the file the entire OS freezes and only the mouse cursor stays active. I have to press the power button to reboot. When I press CTRL + f and I try to find text inside that troubled file the netbeans freezes. What can it be? I've tried to create another file and copy the contents it didn't work. I've tried to clear and build the projects and it didn't work.
Get rid of the project and clone it again! It solved my problem.

I normally only use Eclipse just to code in Java for class, but today I decided to use it for my own personal projects. I didn't download anything funky and essentially only used FileWriter, java.util, java.io, and ArrayLists.
Suddenly, after running some code, I was told that Eclipse was no longer responding and had to force quit the program.
Afterward, I couldn't open Eclipse again because the workspace was currently in use.
I've looked up this problem numerous times, and what a lot of people were saying was to end Eclipse through the Task Manager and then go into the metadata file and then delete the .lock file, which I did. However, every time I opened Eclipse again, the program would load up, but there would be no workspace for me to work on. I'd try clicking the icon again, and now the "workspace was currently in use" window would pop up, and I'd go and see that the .lock file had reappeared in the metadata file, again, even though I'd deleted it.
I read somewhere else that another option was to relocate the metadata file, open and close Eclipse, and then overwrite the new metadata file, and it still hasn't worked, considering the .lock file ends up in the metadata again, somehow.
Is there any way I can fix this or am I just better off reinstalling Eclipse?
Thank you for any help, and sorry if this is very simpleāI'm still very new to all this!
When I click on the downloaded libgdx file I select run with Java then the libgdx window pops up I check android (and tried to check desktop too) and leave the names default and some times I tried to change them and for extensions I leave it as default the only one checked is box 2D.
Its says in the little console below that it's generating an app in my desired path then its just stuck there for hours.
(I checked task manager and its not using almost any resources other than 60 mbs of ram)
This problem could possibly happen if the application cannot write into the destination folder you choose. So avoid making the destination folder inside the system32 folder or such.
Run the jar file from the command prompt to see the exception it generates which should explain the problem:
Hold down the Windows button and tap the 'r' key.
In the dialog type 'cmd' then enter.
Copy this text using ctrl-c, include all quotes. Adjust the file names to point to your Java VM runtime and your downloaded
gdx-setup.jar file: "C:\Program
Files\AdoptOpenJDK\jdk-8.0.222.10-hotspot\bin\java.exe" -jar "C:\Users\keith\Downloads\gdx-setup.jar"
Paste the text into the command prompt by pressing ctrl-insert (the zero key on the numpad). Alternatively, tap the top left icon,
then edit, then paste.
See what the specific exception is in the cmd console when the gdx setup program runs.
I use MacOS High Siearra. My Eclipse IDE version is Oxygen 3(4.3.2). I have a big problem.
I accidentally shrunk my console area and text in the text field (using Command (-)) but now when I turn the screen back on, I close my tabs and when I reopen them the page opens in the smallest size. I have to fix it every time.
Also, I have not been able to make my console screen larger again if using a mouse. I'm glad you helped me. I also thought about reinstalling the IDE, but when I delete it from the application screen and install it again, I still have the same problem. I think I could not delete it with all the system folders. Please help me ... Thanks
These settings are stored in the workspace metadata which on mac is at location:
<your root path>/eclipse-workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings . Remove the intended setting from there and restart eclipse.
For example, my editor settings are in the file org.eclipse.ui.editors.prefs with content:
eclipse.preferences.version=1
lineNumberRuler=true
overviewRuler_migration=migrated_3.1
spellingEnabled=true
I have searched on the net, but I have not found anything for my case.
I have created an application, that shows only in the SystemTray (icon) when you start. I want to run the jar file or the exe automatically when windows starts.
I would like to do this via code or automatically directly from my app. A menu item (for example) that the user could click on that option, if desired. I searched the internet but have not found anything.
Thank you in advance
Thank you very much
Only code Java or Bat
I think you can register your application as a system service, set the starttype auto start
Follow the below steps for windows 7
1)Click the Start windows button , click All Programs, right-click the Startup folder, and then click Open.
2) Open the location that contains the item you want to create a shortcut to.
3) Right-click the item, and then click Create Shortcut. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.
4) Drag the shortcut into the Startup folder.
The next time you start Windows, the program will run automatically.
I got from this link
I have completed my app which runs perfectly and am now trying to export it using File => Export. When I do the keystore file gets created but the apk file does not. Eclipse get hung up after hitting the Finish button continuously pending (cursor shows loading icon). This last for up to 40 minutes when I decided to cancel and start again.
When I move the cursor around eclipse afterward the cursor still shows loading in certain panels, like package viewer and task. When I close eclipse and restart it I get the infamous "Workspace in use and cannot be create..." prompt. I, then, go to the meta folder and try to delete the .lock file to no avail, not even the program unlocker works. Task manager also cannot end the task (the CPU usage shows 0% but the memory shows a value and eclipse remains present in task manager).
The only thing I find that allows me to enter eclipse is to reboot my Windows 8.1 pc. Afterward, the same issue repeats itself. Any idea on what gives?
when you get to save file (destation APK file) click browers and you have to type .apk after it. eg filename.apk.
