hope you having a good day.
(Context of the problem ahead)
My problem is when installing JDeveloper suddenly appeared me an error log in the Oracle Universal Installer. Before this step of installation I passed an obstacle of the typically problem of the .zip file not founded (The error mentioned: Error to install Oracle JDeveloper). I changed the name of the .zip and then it seemed that I was on the right way of installing JDeveloper.
It's worth to highlight here, that I'm in Oracle Universal Installer. Because I can't still post images.
The problem here is that the file in fact exists and tells me that doesn't exists, it appears to indicate the path of the .zip file is: Disk2/stage/Components/oracle.ide.help.extras/12.2.1.4.0/DataFiles/filegroup1.jar
I already saw the .zip file without unzipping it and YES there's the .jar mentioned in the log:
I tried to download the same exact .zip file looking for if the file was missing in my .zip file, but I had the surprise that actually there it is.
So, if you have had the same problem I beg you to bring me help as needed as it is like from a colleague of you
I'm pendent of any response of you guys, hope you could help me. Beforehand, have a nice day.

I had used the IntelliJ IDEA installer provided in the booksite for Computer Science: An Interdisciplinary Approach and I had no problem to use the library. However, I noticed that installation had screwed my Git bash display settings, so I uninstalled everything.
Later, I installed the latest version of IntelliJ (2021.3.3), from the JetBrains website and apparently all the previous settings were overwritten, since I could no longer use the library. So, I downgraded back to the version provided in the booksite, however, I still can't use the Std library.
I've tried adding the versions of the library .jar files that I found:
On the Standard Libraries Princeton's webpage
On the Jar Download website
On this post from Stack Overflow
In the .jar file from the hello.zip file I found on this other Princeton webpage
Together and independently to the module and libraries, via IntelliJ IDEA, following the paths: "File > Project settings > Modules > + > JARs or directories" and "File > Project settings > Libraries > + > Java" , respectively, and choosing the corresponding directory/file, with no luck, since I've got the "cannot find symbol" error message:
Barnsley.java:16: error: cannot find symbol
StdDraw.setScale(-0.1, 1.1); // leave a 10% border
^
symbol: variable StdDraw
location: class Barnsley
For literally every single mention of the Std libraries in the code. I also tried editing the environment system variables and created a variable named "CLASSPATH" and linked it to the Stdlib.jar file and then, to the .lift folder that came with the hello.zip file, from the first week assignment. Again, no luck, because I kept getting the same error message.
Next up, I typed:
javac -cp stdlib.jar Barnsley.java
In the command line, and although that command itself didn't lead to any error message, when I tried to run the program, typing:
java -cp stdlib.jar Barnsley 10000
This error message showed up:
Error: Could not find or load main class Barnsley
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Barnsley
I also vainly tried copying and pasting every .java file from Standard libraries webpage to the same directory where I keep the program files.
I know some (maybe lots of people) have asked the same or a similar question before, either here or in other forums, but I've been googling and looking for a solution for three days now and, as you can see, none of the reported solutions that I've found have been of help to me, that's why I decided to ask again, on my own.
Thank you for reading my post and/or for any help you can provide.
PS.: The Barnsley.java file in the error messages corresponds to the one provided in the 5th section of this webpage from the booksite.
[Edit - April 7th, 2022]:
I tried to follow #CrazyCoder advice, so I created a folder named "src", extracted all the files from the stdlib.jar file that came with the hello.zip file into src and also moved Barnsley.java to that folder. Next, Next, I tried to follow the instructions from the webpage he mentioned, as shown in the following screenshot:
And somehow, got the same error message when compiling:
I don't know what went wrong :C Any assistance would be highly appreciated.
[Edit - Later on April 7th, 2022]:
Something weird happened. I downloaded the file provided by #CrazyCorder and there was a warning about Amazon Corretto not being installed, that I decided to ignore.
I tried to run the program from the command line, with no luck, because I got the same error message as always. So, I noticed that there was no JDK assigned to the SDK slot in the Project structure, and I chose to use JDK 18 (following the path "File > Project structure > Project"), which is the one that I had previously installed on my computer, but that didn't really change a thing.
Lastly, I tried to run it from the IDE and that's when it finally worked!!! So, thank you, #CrazyCoder :D I still don't know why it doesn't work from the command line, though...
I also vainly tried copying and pasting every .java file from Standard libraries webpage to the same directory where I keep the program files.
This works just fine, you need to place all the .java files from the stdlib.jar into the sources root directory (marked in blue in the project view). Barnsley.java needs to be in the same directory.
The jar with .class files will not work in the dependencies/classpath as you cannot import classes from the default package in Java.
It was an extremely poor choice to keep the classes in the default package and it's the fault of the creators of this library/course. This simple oversight has caused major headaches over the years.
I am working on some server files in jboss. The main file of data jboss/standalone/deployments/data.tar and data.war I just renamed to data1.tar and data1.war and come back site went down. Again I renamed with data.tar still not working. I am unable to to figure out.
How to fix this am not java programmer, could some one help me
You renamed the application - what did you expect exactly? The server took that as (a) uninstallation of the application under the old filename and (b) installation of an application under the new filename.
Don't fiddle around with things like this.
I have created a JAR file using Eclipse Neon. I have done this before for this same project with no issue but for some reason now it is not able to run. The size of the JAR file before would end up being 11,597,123+KB but now it is only 12,226 KB. I am not sure what changed. I am attaching a link to a screen recording to show what I am doing. http://screencast.com/t/DAERIVpv9
I resolved my issue although I do not know what was causing all of the previous problems finally exporting as an executable jar file worked.
Thanks for the help and direction pointing it really helped.
I have an application (DrawFBP) which has a Help facility. built using JavaHelp. I actually had it working for several years on the Eclipse IDE, but I had never tested it running in the jar file. The Help facility uses a number of html files, and some other stuff, and one informant said I can get them included on the jar file by putting them in a resources folder (src/main/resources) . This seems to have worked! After lots of restructuring, I got my Help facility working on the jar file, but it stopped working on the IDE. The IDE version is crashing on a FileNotFoundException referencing a file with extra levels of qualification - where do they come from? I am probably making several dumb errors - but help would be much appreciated! The project can be found on GitHub - https://github.com/jpaulm/drawfbp . The code and resources are there, but Git wants me to add all my code back in again - not sure why... TIA
Somehow got it working - the trick seems to be to include the resources in a folder called 'resources' under src/main. I will accept this answer - unless someone comes up with a better one!
I've just downloaded Grails 2.0.4 and extracted it to /opt/grails/grails-2.0.4/ and made sure that the GRAILS_HOME environment variable is correct. But whenever I try run the "grails" command, I get the following error:
Error opening zip file or JAR manifest missing : /opt/grails/grails-2.0.4/lib/com.springsource.springloaded/springloaded-core/jars/springloaded-core-1.0.2.jar
Error occurred during initialization of VM
agent library failed to init: instrument
I don't understand what the problem could be. I've been using Grails-2.0.1 for months successfully in exactly the same way on exactly the same machine. I've tried re-downloading the grails-2.0.4.zip file in the hopes that it was a problem with the archive, but that didn't help. I also copied springloaded-core-1.0.2.jar from the grails-2.0.1/ directory, but that just caused another set of errors.
Any idea what could be going wrong?
I experienced this error too. The problem is spaces in the grails home path.
If it's this:
c:/grails 2.1.0/grails2.1.0
Then it will give an error, as there's a space between "grails" and "2.1.0". I just removed the spaces and it started working.
It looks like your PATH has not been updated correctly. In other words, you are running the 2.0.1 grails script with GRAILS_HOME set to 2.0.4. You can tell because the version of spring loaded reported in the error message - 1.0.2 - is not the one required by Grails 2.0.4 (to help others diagnose this issue).
Have you cleared out the .grails folder in your home directory?
Grails caches a bunch of files in there, it could be that that is tripping you up.
I have had similar problems in the past when my internet connection wasn't a 100% reliable, it seems that the Grails downloader does not do thorough checking of downloaded files, so files in cache can become corrupt.
It's the folder hierarchy problem!
I have faced the same issue : when i set Grails_home make sure the path you are giving is e.g c:/grails2.1.0 and not c:/grails2.1.0/grails2.1.0
it often happens when you unzip the folder 2 folder with same name are created one inside another.
hope this will resolve!!!
I had the same problem. Here is how I solved it:
Previously:
I had grails in: C:\Program Files\grails-2.5.5
and in the system's environmental variables I had
GRAILS_HOME: C:\Program Files\grails-2.5.5 and also
C:\Program Files\grails-2.5.5\bin in PATH.
Then I tried:
To put grails in C:\Grails_2.5.5\grails-2.5.5
and updated GRAILS_HOME to C:\Grails_2.5.5\grails-2.5.5 and the text in PATH to C:\Grails_2.5.5\grails-2.5.5\bin
BUT, I still got the same error.
What fixed it:
Put grails in C: C:\grails_2.5.5
Update Environmental variables to the correct grails path:
-GRAILS_HOME: C:\grails-2.5.5
-In PATH: C:\grails-2.5.5\bin
Restart pc
Wish you luck!
