How do I use Postman to send queries with body (in json format) and files (in multipart) format at the same time?
I think I should use Postman->Body->Raw although I can't find an example on the Web. Anyone can kindly teach me? Thank you!
In postman, set method type to POST.
Then select Body -> form-data -> Enter your parameter name (file according to your code)
On the right side of the Key field, while hovering your mouse over it, there is a dropdown menu to select between Text/File. Select File, then a "Select Files" button will appear in the Value field.
For rest of JSON data, you can click on raw and enter your JSON data there.

I know how to retrieve a file with a specified name like this:
HttpGet httpGet = new HttpGet(siteUrl +
"_api/web/GetFolderByServerRelativeUrl('Shared%20Documents/Working%20Files/FolderName')/Files('"
+workbookName+"')/$value");
but is there a way to retrieve it without the name? maybe by index?
Ive checked the documentation on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/sp-add-ins/working-with-folders-and-files-with-rest but saw no other examples on how else to retrieve files
Every file you upload into the Sharepoint will have the field Id mapped to it. This ID would be returned as part of the response whenever you create the file in the Sharepoint. This response would also return several links and fields related to the particular file you uploaded, in order to perform any operations on that file.
Using these fields such as Id, E-Tag you should be able to form another request to get the file name.
You can also find the request URL in the response you received after file creation.
I am trying to read the HTML contents of a Document object(mail) as a part of my plug in development in Lotus Notes 9.
With this HTML content, we would like to create a file and send it as an attachment file in our query, so we can preserve the formatting, images, etc.
Even after session.setConvertMIME(false); I still do not get the Mime entity when I call doc.getMIMEEntity().
I have made preferences setting in Preferences>Mail>Internet
Internet mail format to "HTML and plain text".
I have tried doc.createMIMEEntity and then tried to retrieve it
mimePart = doc.getMIMEEntity("Body");
When i right clicked on Incoming mails from outlook I was able to see multiple Body items, one of which contained the HTML part.However I was still not able to access it via getMIMEEntity.
The mails I created from lotus notes, do not have multiple Body items. When I receive the mails from Lotus Notes > Outlook and I inspect source in Outlook, I see it as HTML. So I assume there is a place where this conversion takes place.
ShelfSession.getInstance().localSession.setConvertMime(false);
MIMEEntity nMime = (MIMEEntity) doc.getMIMEEntity("Body");
I want the Mime part to be set to this variable so I can retrieve the content to form the HTML file.
Please help with any code suggestions or is there some Lotus notes setting that I have missed out on that is making the Mime variable always null?
You said, "The mails I created from lotus notes, do not have multiple Body items." This almost certainly means the Body item is stored as rich text instead of MIME. You can confirm this by looking at the document properties in Notes.
You can use document.convertToMIME() to convert a Body item from Notes rich text to MIME. Here's an example:
MIMEEntity mimeEntity = null;
Item item = document.getFirstItem("Body");
if (item != null) {
if (item.getType() == Item.RICHTEXT) {
// Convert Notes rich text to MIME
document.convertToMIME(Document.CVT_RT_TO_PLAINTEXT_AND_HTML, 0);
}
mimeEntity = document.getMIMEEntity();
}
I've adapted this example from some code in MimeEntityHelper from the XPages Extension Library. I'd encourage you to take a look at that code for more context. For example, you still need to call session.setConvertMIME(false) to avoid converting a document that is already MIME to rich text. The MimeEntityHelper class uses both session.setConvertMIME() and document.convertToMIME() to control document conversions.
In api automation, let's consider below code to hit the api and get response.
Response res= given().
formParam("email", "value").
formParam("password", "value").
formParam("action", "login").
header("token","value").
when().post("MyResource").then().assertThat().statusCode(200).extract().response();
Actually in the above code we're just building an api with formParams, header and resource with post request right!
so, there we have created 3 formParm manually and passed the values right? now i want that to added automatically based on no of parameters that we have from an excel sheet.
Thing is these parameters can be deleted or new parameters gets added in future, so that's why i want to add those dynamically from an excel sheet data.
how i can do that? any suggestions?
If i've understood you right, you want to have the parameters on the spreadsheet to use dynamically and on runtime.
To do that, you'll need to:
Read the spreadsheet file and get the parameters contained in a data structure such as a Map<String,String>, in which, the key is the field and the value is... the value :P
Iterate upon the data structure selected and set the formParam generically
final RequestSpecification given = given();
for(final Map.Entry<String,String> entry : map.entrySet()) {
given.formParam(entry.getKey(), entry.getValue());
}
final Response res = given.other_things() ...
I hope it helps, but keep in mind the use of Map is not necessary. Choose the data structure more appropriate to your situation!
I have developed a file download program, which is implemented by Java Servlet.
The link sent to the user is in the following format:
http://examples.com/file?id=6565_1_1_1_201110
When user clicks this link, it will send a request to a servlet program to find the file name and then download the file. In the servlet I use the following code to retrieve the id value:
String param = "";
synchronized (this) {
param = request.getParameter("id");
}
Now the problem is, some users can get the correct value, which is 6565_1_1_1_201110. However, some users have obtained the wrong value, like 656543_1_1_1_20111067, etc, which is not fixed. I do not know where are those additional number from?
Any idea on this? Thanks.
In a struts2 application I want email notification is to be sent when ever a user is logged in .
I want the mail body to be Html content, with the data entered by the User in run time.
Can any one suggest suggest the best way to do it !
Foe now iam using mail.jar and iam able to send the static content easily.
But facing difficulty
1. maintaining the long HTMl code string .
2. How to substitute the values in the string with the dynamic values
Please can somebody help me with a proper solution. Or Best practice to follow in Email application !
Thanks in Advance !
You can put the email body in a properties file and read it from there.
For substitution, you can define "placeholder" in your String like {FIRSTNAME} {LASTNAME} etc., and then do a replaceAll for the dynamic portions in your code.
What u need to look into is "freemarker". Its a library and u can achieve your purpose with it.
You can use an WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Editor like CKEditor or TinyMCE, letting the user writing the html without even knowing html.
Then, after the user submitted the body, you take the output that is pure html,
and inject it into the mail body.
End of story...
Just remember to set mimetype to text/html and not to text/plain , or you will see the tags instead of their representation...
